The full potential of proficiency scales is achieved only when there is prominent use of these tools by the teacher and students in a classroom. Join Jan K. Hoegh from Marzano Resources as she shares information, insights, and ideas for how to ensure that scales are optimally used by teachers and students in various ways for different purposes. Outcomes of this interactive day of professional learning include:

• Examining how proficiency scales can be effectively integrated into existing units of instruction.
• Selecting and/or developing high-quality classroom assessments for determining whether students are learning the important content on proficiency scales and for planning next instructional steps.
• Providing students with opportunities to use proficiency scales in various ways.

NOTE: Schools are encouraged to register collaborative teams of educators, although this workshop will also benefit individual educators in attendance.

NOTE: This will be a hands-on workshop.  Come with a desired instructional unit in mind and bring your curricular resource(s).  Some planning time will be provided during the workshop.
