Dr. Greg Carlson will talk about the Data as a Service Portal:
The purpose of the STARS Reporting platform is to provide data to K-12 public school administrators that can inform educational continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing student learning performance. DPI presents this “data as a service” portal to supplement resources within the Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS). This work builds upon DPI school initiatives in collaboration with the National Center for Systemic Improvement (NCSI) and Region 11 Comprehensive Center aimed at assisting schools in improving student learning performance. Data visualizations are centered upon the measures used by DPI to identify schools for Comprehensive or Targeted Support under ESSA, allowing DPI and school personnel a consistent view of data metrics from which to form a common school improvement language.
Steve Snow will talk about updates to the STARS User Interface (UI):
Improvements were made to STARS based on user feedback we obtained through surveys, as well as from our STARS advisory group. This is a multi-phase initiative. The first phase focuses on the user interface and user experience. The new UI was rolled out on 10 Mar, Steve will highlight the updated features and navigation.
